In 2008 Origin Wine decided to extend on its already successful Fairtrade initiatives in South Africa and Argentina with the establishment of a Fairtrade initiative in Chile.
To this end Origin Wine established a supply relationship with Viña Santa Irene and four other smaller producers, who previously delivered their produce to Cooperativa Los Robles in Curico but unfortunately due to the various reasons had to leave the Cooperative and decided to join the Fairhills Fairtrade project started by Origin Wine.
Establishing a relationship with the producers who used to delivered their produce to Los Robles has helped Fairhills to obtain an already established and rather substantial marketshare which should offer Origin Wine a solid basis to build their business on in Chile.
