After the successful introduction and establishment of the Fairhills Fairtrade initiative in South Africa it was decided that Origin Wine would start another Fairtrade initiative in Argentina.
In 2006 Mendoza Vineyards, the export arm of Origin Wine in Argentina, together with one commercial producer and 3 small producers established the Fairhills Argentina Trust to provide the employees of the Lavalle, San Martin and Medrano areas with the opportunity to develop and improve their social and living standards.
Since the first exports of wine to England, during 2007, to Tesco. Since then volumes have increased and in total five products have been listed by Tesco, one by the Cooperative Retail Group and one listing in Finland. Various markets are currently being investigating for future opportunities and relationships. The first milestone will be breaking in the US market.
