Fairhills was founded in 2005 as a partnership between leading South African wine exporter Origin Wine and Du Toitskloof Cellar. Later similar Fairtrade projects in Argentina and Chile followed, making Fairhills the largest accredited Fairtrade project worldwide. Most social projects undertaken focus on improving education, health and infrastructures for transport.
With accreditation the workers and producers of Fairhills became part of a larger network of licensees the world over whose aim is to build better, dignified societies through sustainable farming practices, treating both the land and those who work in it, with utmost care and respect.
The Fairhills brand has made its mark the world over, notably in the UK and Europe, and recently launched in South Africa. It’s motto remains to “change the world” of its beneficiaries by giving them the freedom to fulfill their dreams.
